June 13 (UPI) — A wounded leopard is being treated by veterinarians in China after it wandered into a village in an apparent search for food.
The leopard was spotted Tuesday in a village located in Xinlong County, Sichuan Province, and locals reported the big cat caused some property damage while apparently searching for food.
The local forestry bureau captured the leopard, which was said to be injured, and said the animal will be given veterinary treatment before being released back into the wild.
Leopards are a Class 1 protected animal in China.
