2016 Hubris: Hillary Advisers ‘Not Particularly Concerned’ about Potential Iowa Rivals

Eight years after Hillary Clinton considered skipping Iowa before ultimately coming in third behind Barack Obama and John Edwards, her political team is expressing confidence that she will win Iowa’s first-in-the-nation caucuses if she decides to run in 2016.

According to The Hill, “Jerry Crawford, who was the 2008 co-chair for the Clinton campaign in Iowa and is currently assisting Ready for Hillary’s effort” in Iowa, reportedly said he is “not particularly concerned” about left-wing activists who have never trusted Clinton’s hawkish foreign policy and ties to Wall Street and crony capitalism.

“There is no Barack Obama looming and ready to suit up and come in that I know of,” Crawford reportedly said. “That’s a fundamentally different lay of the land.”

Clinton holds a commanding lead in nearly every ’16 Iowa poll, but such hubris–along with orange beanies–certainly does not go over well with Iowa’s voters.
