Long Live ‘The Great One’: Mark Levin Re-ups with Cumulus/Westwood One Through 2020

In a move sure to excite conservatives and unnerve progressives, Westwood One announced Thursday morning a long-term extension through 2020 of its ratings juggernaut, “The Mark Levin Show.”

With a listener base of millions on over 300 stations nationwide, conservative talk radio luminary Mark Levin’s program is now one of the top five most-listened-to programs in America.

“I am delighted to continue working with Cumulus and Westwood One and look forward to further developing the show over the next five years,” said Levin.

Known as “The Great One,” Levin’s meteoric rise in radio began in 2003 when his show launched on flagship station 77 WABC Radio in New York in the competitive 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM primetime slot. Within 18 months, “The Mark Levin Show” rocketed to number one on the AM dial.

Prior to his radio career, Levin worked as an attorney and served as Chief of Staff to Reagan Attorney General Ed Meese, as well as a top advisor to several members of President Ronald Reagan cabinet. Levin continues his legal work as president of the Landmark Legal Foundation, a nonprofit legal advocacy group.

The author of New York Times bestselling conservative classics like Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto (which sold over one million copies) and Men in Black: How the Supreme Court is Destroying America, Levin is also the inaugural recipient of the prestigious Citizens United “Andrew Breitbart Defender of the First Amendment Award.”

Conservatives and Tea Party members say they depend on Levin for his incisive legal commentary and deep understanding of—and adherence to—Constitutional principles. Levin says he plans on using the long-term extension of his program to continue advocating for the principles that guided America’s founding.

“I am passionate about challenging the mainstream media and educating the public on the most pressing political and legal issues of our time and maintain my commitment to doing so,” said Levin.
