Donald Trump will meet with Egyptian President Abdel el-Sisi in New York city, say sources close to the Egyptian diplomatic delegation.

The Monday evening meeting will be held back-to-back with Sisi’s meeting with Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton, and will give Trump another opportunity to bolster his foreign policy credentials.

President el-Sisi is in town for the United Nations General Assembly and is expected to speak Tuesday.

He was elected president of Egypt after massive protests removed President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.

Morsi was deposed after he pushed hardline Islamic rules that touted by the radical Muslim Brotherhood. Morsi has assumed office after the 2011 ouster of longtime President Hosni Mubarak.

GOP leaders are generally sympathetic to Sisi’s emerging reforms of Egypt’s economy and its Islamic religious establishment.

The Daily News Egypt reported Friday that Egypt’s permanent ambassador to the United Nations, Amr Aboulatta said, “Egypt is currently adopting a comprehensive counter-terrorism strategy through regulating religious discourse.”
