President Trump’s “America First” agenda to raise U.S. wages and tighten the labor market through stricter immigration enforcement is securing historic overtime salaries for American workers.

Trump’s push for economic nationalism against a Republican establishment and Democrat-led open borders agenda is delivering massive wage gains for America’s working and middle class, as the Wall Street Journal outlines.

At the manufacturing company Weifield Group Contracting Inc. in Centennial, Colorado, executives are spending nearly $600,000 on overtime pay for their crew of about 400 American workers. In January and February, alone, workers were asked to fill 4,500 hours of overtime for substantial wages.

Another company in Colorado is shelling out hundreds of dollars — essentially bonuses — to workers who work overtime hours in Trump’s tightened labor market.

Randy Green, a foreman at Saunders Construction Inc., has been working 55 to 60 hours a week to help build a 24-story apartment tower in Denver. He says it has been hard to balance his work schedule and time with his family, including his 11-month-old son, but the money is hard to pass up. [Emphasis added]

In a typical week, Mr. Green earns $500 to $600 in overtime, which sometimes nearly doubles his regular paycheck. “I’ll probably do it for as long as I can,” the 37-year-old said of his six-day workweeks. [Emphasis added]

The wage increases for American workers are not limited to those working overtime. There has been history-making wage growth for American workers in the construction industry, the garment industry, for workers employed at small businessesblack Americans, and restaurant workers.

But, should illegal immigration, along with legal immigration levels, continue at the level where the U.S. admits more than 1.5 million illegal and legal immigrants to the country every year, Americans’ wage gains run the risk of being depleted, as Breitbart News reported.

Overtime workers’ wage increases come as the Republican establishment, led by House Speaker Paul Ryan, is looking to please its big business donors by focusing all attention on the temporary wage benefits of tax cuts, rather than the longlasting wage benefits of immigration enforcement.
