Watch: Intrusion Suspect Shot After Ignoring Mother Who Warned, ‘I Have a Gun’

A home intrusion suspect was hospitalized after allegedly ignoring a mother who said, “I have a gun, I will shoot you.”

WSPA reports that the mother, Ashley Jones, was at her Anderson County, South Carolina, home with her three sleeping children  when two suspects allegedly began beating on her front door.

Jones said there was one male suspect and one female. She said the male tried to convince her to open the door, but Jones responded by dialing 911 then grabbing her gun.

The man allegedly moved to the back of the house to try to make entry, only to return to the front door after finding the back door locked. Once he made it back to the front Jones said he allegedly “kicked the door in and tried walking towards the inside, and that’s when [she] shot him.”

The suspect was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Jones said she did what any mother would do to protect her children. The State quoted Jones saying, “I would’ve killed him if I had to.”
