Former First Lady Michelle Obama reveals in her upcoming memoir that she vowed never to forgive President Donald Trump for questioning her husband’s birth certificate.

“Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family’s safety at risk. And for this I’d never forgive him,” she wrote in her book, according to the Washington Post.

Trump famously challenged Obama’s birth certificate until the president released a copy of his long-form document in April 2011 at a press conference.

“We’re not going to be able to solve our problems if we get distracted by sideshows and carnival barkers,” President Obama lectured the press.

In her memoir, Michelle Obama called Trump’s attention to the issue “crazy and mean-spirited” fueled by “underlying bigotry and xenophobia” in order to “stir up the wingnuts and kooks.”

“What if someone with an unstable mind loaded a gun and drove to Washington?” she asked. “What if that person went looking for our girls?”

President Trump finally put the issue to rest in 2016 at a press conference at the newly opened Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC.

“President Barack Obama was born in the United States,” he said.
