During ESPN’s Wednesday college basketball coverage of the Washington Huskies-Oregon Ducks game, the graphic viewers saw on the screen named the announcers as Bill Walton and “Dave??”
Per Awful Announcing, the placeholder just saying “Dave??” appeared the entire game for announcer Dave Pasch.
The error likely stems from the uncertainty of Pasch’s availability to call the game following his busy bowl season. He called the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA, on Monday and Walton has recently had other partners to work with in Pasch’s place.
Pasch later said on Twitter that he did not learn about the gaffe until after Wednesday’s game.
