Eagles QB Wentz Gets Engaged After Super Bowl

Feb. 6 (UPI) — Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz was a Super Bowl champion on Sunday and a fiance on Tuesday.

Wentz posted photos of himself popping the question to girlfriend Madison Oberg on Tuesday to his social media platforms.

“She said YES!” Wentz wrote. “And now Maddie and I both got us a ring can’t wait to marry my best friend! God is doing some amazing things and I can’t thank him enough!”

It appears Wentz asked the question on a rooftop, while surrounded by candles.

Oberg and Wentz posted their first social media photo together in November.

The Eagles’ 25-year-old quarterback did not play in Super Bowl LII on Sunday against the New England Patriots due to a torn ACL. He put together an MVP-level campaign before going down to the injury in December.

Wentz completed 60.2 percent of his throws for 3,296 yards, 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 13 games this season for the Eagles. He led the league with a 74.4 QBR in his second season, en route to his first Pro Bowl selection.

He won the 2017 Bert Bell Award for Player of the Year on Jan. 23, while Eagles coach Doug Pederson won Greasy Neale Professional Coach of the Year honors.

Wentz was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of North Dakota State.
