U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins announced on Thursday that there is a “complete reorganization” of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), moving many employees out of Washington, DC, and transferring them to regional hubs across the country, closer to “core constituents.”

While President Trump has stressed American independence in the midst of the Chinese coronavirus crisis, the United States Agriculture Department (USDA) has greenlighted citrus imports from China.

“They’re warriors. They also know we have to do this on China, we can’t take this on,” Trump said. “Our farmers will be helped.”

Senator Ben Sasse said that President Donald Trump was interested in rejoining the Trans-Pacific Partnership to put more pressure on China by opening up more Asian markets to agricultural exports from the United States.

China imposed tariffs on U.S. farm goods and other commodities, making good on its promise to retaliate against the Trump administration’s penalties on imports of steel and aluminum.
