Nolte: Tale of Two Trailers – Why Aaron Sorkin’s ‘Social Reckoning’ Is Projected to Bomb

Writer-director Aaron Sorkin’s “The Social Reckoning” is projected to bomb this weekend with a disastrous opening.

Aaron Sorkin’s “The Social Reckoning,” a “companion piece” to David Fincher’s beloved “The Social Network” (2010), is tracking for a dismal $8 million debut, far under it’s predecessor’s $22 million opening.

Director Aaron Sorkin is admitting that he left out President Donald Trump’s name from his upcoming Jan. 6 Capitol Hill riot film, The Social Reckoning, even as the film looks like a box office bomb.

Neither David Fincher nor Jesse Eisenberg nor Trent Reznor will be returning for Aaron Sorkin’s so-called “sequel” to the 2010 smash hit “The Social Network,” and fans are not happy.

The LA Times recently interviewed screenwriter Aaron Sorkin about his new take on To Kill a Mockingbird and the criticism he received for adapting the work of a female author as a white man. As part of the interview, Sorkin said that if he wrote a sequel to the movie The Social Network, it would focus on Mark Zuckerberg’s inability to deal with “bad actors” on Facebook, and how the company has “helped damage democracy.”
