Border Patrol agents arrested seven illegal aliens who had been stuffed in the bed of a Chevrolet Avalanche in an effort to get them past a border checkpoint.

The arrest took place when an unidentified man drove a blue Chevrolet Avalanche to the Sarita checkpoint north of the Rio Grande Valley, information provided to Breitbart Texas by the U.S. Border Patrol revealed. The Sarita checkpoint is located on Highway 77 between Raymondville and Kingsville about 75 miles north of the Texas/Mexico border.

A police dog alerted the agents to the bed of the vehicle so the agents sent it to get a secondary inspection there the agents found that the latch to vehicle’s tailgate was broken and it had been locked. Once the agents were able to open it they found seven illegal aliens including several women. Since the vehicle was locked, the aliens would not have been able to get out of the vehicle in case of an emergency, Border Patrol officials said.
