The Dallas Police Department reported that two police officers and a Home Depot loss prevention officer have been seriously wounded in a shooting. Local media reports the shooting occurred at a Home Depot parking lot on the city’s northeast side. The suspect is in police custody.

UPDATE 10:20 p.m.: Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall tells reporters that Armando Luis Juarez has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault on a police officer. She confirmed the suspect also had a felony arrest warrant for theft. She thanked her officers for “an outstanding job.”
Hall said Juarez was taken into custody along with a female passenger.

UPDATE 10:10 p.m.: WFAA ABC8 reports that the person of interest, Armando Juarez, fired shots at police officers during the high-speed pursuit that led to his eventual capture. The chase ended near Dallas Love Field after Juarez allegedly drove through numerous yards.
The Dallas ABC affiliate reported that the two Dallas officers arrived at the Home Depot at about 4 p.m. The officers reportedly responded to a call to assist an off-duty Dallas police officer who was attempting to arrest a suspect. When the officers arrived, the suspect reportedly pulled a handgun and fired shots, striking the two officers and a Home Depot civilian loss prevention officer.
The local news outlet reported that the 27-year-old male police officer is being kept alive until his mother can arrive at the hospital. The female officer is reported to be in stable condition after being shot in the face. No word has been given on the status or condition of the loss prevention officer.
UPDATE 10:00 p.m.: Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall took to police radio to thank her officers following the apprehension of the person of interest in the shooting of two Dallas police officers and a Home Depot loss prevention officer, CBSDFW reported. “Base to all units. Excellent work, excellent work. Thank everybody for their diligence in the matter. Appreciate you very much. And we’re still praying for our brother and sister,” Hall said.

UPDATE 8:35 p.m.: WFAA reports that the person of interest, Armando Juarez, was arrested late last year for stealing a car. He reportedly pleaded guilty and then missed a sentencing hearing in February.
The ABC affiliate reports the female officer is in stable condition. Doctors are reportedly performing surgery to remove bullet fragments from the woman’s face. He was reportedly facing two years of deferred adjudication because of his status as a first-time offender, the outlet reported.

UPDATE 7:45 p.m.: Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall asks for prayers for their officers and their families during a live press conference. She said that Juarez is currently a “person of interest.” She said the person of interest left the scene in a white pickup truck. Hall asked for the public’s assistance in locating Juarez. The civilian who was wounded is described as a loss prevention officer.
An off-duty officer working at Home Depot called Dallas police for assistance in making an arrest, Hall said. The officers arrived to assist in the arrest. Shortly after a call came out for officers being shot.
Hall says that they believe Juarez is armed at this time.
Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings told reporters, “I continue to be upset at the lack of respect for our police in this city and this country.”

An unknown gunman shot one of the Dallas police officers, a male, in the back of the head, CBSDFW reported. The gunman turned his weapon on the officer’s female partner and shot her in the face, a source close to the investigation told the local CBS affiliate.

One of the officers had to be resuscitated, the news outlet stated. Both officers have been transported to the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas for treatment.
Fox 4 News in Dallas reports that dozens of police officers are searching for a suspect in the area behind the Home Depot.
NBCDFW reports that police officers are circulating a photo of 29-year-old Armando Juarez. Officials told the NBC affiliate they want to talk to Juarez about the shooting. He has not been named as a suspect.
