Media Buries Story Of Fast & Furious Arrest

Leonel Sanchez Jesus Meza, a suspect in the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, was arrested in Mexico on Thursday. In typical MSM fashion the majority buried the story.

Operation Fast & Furious was a government gun running scheme that allowed over 2,000 guns to land in the hands of Mexican drug cartels. These guns have been connected to the deaths of Agent Terry and 300+ Mexicans. Over 1,000 guns are still missing.

A simple Google search of “operation fast and furious” does bring up many results for this story, but the majority of them simply reprinted the AP article. Also, if you go the front page of the website, like NBC or ABC, the story was not on the front page. In order to find it the reader has to do a physical search for it.

This is actually somewhat shocking. because the Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on Fast & Furious will be released on Monday and he will testify in front of the Oversight Committee on Tuesday.

One would think the media would be touting this as a success for Attorney General Eric Holder, especially since rumors have been floating around the IG report will slam the Phoenix ATF office and give the top DOJ officials a pass.
