Sarah Palin, Mark Levin Blast Mainstream Media's Focus on Chris Christie

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin blasted the mainstream press for focusing so intently on New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s “Bridgegate” press conference Friday, when Democrats from California to North Carolina are getting arrested, the Middle East is a “tinderbox,” and the economy is tanking. Conservative talk radio host Mark Levin agreed with her sentiment.

Palin said that Christie’s press conference “is the epitome of local politics” that the media is covering like “it’s Armageddon:”

Good Lord, media – distract much? The Middle East isn’t a tinderbox today? Our economy isn’t in the tank today? Scandalous liberal politicians aren’t getting busted in rapid succession today? Talk about ridiculous overkill. This Chris Christie press conference is the epitome of local politics, but you’re taking this live and covering City Hall like it’s Armageddon. Priorities, media… your priorities are so revealing. Christie is playing them like Eddie Van Halen on guitar.

Levin also wanted Christie off his TV:

Can we please get Chris Christie off TV? Is his endless race for president so newsworthy? Amazingly, his own lawyers did a review of the events surrounding the bridge closure and found their client innocent. Ok, great. Can we move on now
