Scarborough: Clinton-Defending Howard Dean Is ‘New England Version’ of Carville

Thursday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough in an exaggerated southern accent called former Gov. Howard Dean (D-VT) a “New England version of James Carville” for his refusal to admit foreign donations to the Clinton foundation while Hillary was secretary of state are a political problem.

Co-host Mika Brzezinski reported on the latest developments saying, “According to The Washington Post, the identities of more than 1,000 people who gave money remain hid on the the public despite a 2008 ethics agreement with the Obama administration that said the former president’s organization would disclose sources of funding while Hillary Clinton served as secretary of state.”

Dean insisted this was another “breathless piece of hot air.”

That drew the ire of Scarborough, who said, “Or actually it’s good reporting by The Washington Post because this really isn’t about Canadian law. This is about a decision that was made by Hillary Clinton when she agreed to be secretary of state that she was going to reveal the sources of donations … This is not breathless reporting.”

Scarborough continued, “I know a lot of politicians are sitting in jail for doing what appeared to be at the beginning of an investigation into their conduct a lot less.”

Dean shot back,”I think this is a ridiculous investigation.”

Scarborough mocked Dean saying “You don’t even know all the things that are out there and you’re already dismissing it. Can I say this? I am really glad we have a New England version of James Carville because sometimes i just don’t understand what he’s saying.”
