Romney Rising in Virginia, Florida

According to the Real Clear Politics averages, Mitt Romney now the leads the presidential race in Virginia for the first time since the beginning of the year. RCP also finds that Obama’s poll numbers have been sliding steadily in the key state of Florida.

In Virginia, the RCP average puts Romney at 47.3 percent to Obama’s 46.5 percent, Romney’s strongest showing.

Romney has been on the rise in Virginia for some time and the GOP nominee campaigned in Virginia Tuesday to capitalize on his rise there.

Meanwhile, Obama has been falling in Florida, another battleground state. RCP’s average for the Sunshine State shows Obama now nearly tied with Romney (47.6 to 47.0), a drop from the President’s previous strong showing.
