Levin Will Force Hagel Vote

Despite Secretary of Defense nominee Chuck Hagel’s refusal to turn over documents disclosing his foreign donors over the years – and reports that he has received donations from highly controversial groups -- Senate Armed Services Chairman Carl Levin (D-MI) stated on Thursday that he would force through a committee vote on Hagel. “We can’t not vote because there is dissatisfaction on the part of people because that could be endless,” Levin stated. “We’re going to schedule a vote as soon as we’re ready to have a vote.”

Senate sources tell Breitbart News that even Democratic Senators have been put off by Hagel’s refusal to turn over documents. But Levin maintains that Hagel need not disclose his foreign donors. “He’s been asked for things no prior candidate has been asked for,” Levin ranted. “He has provided all the financial information the rules of the committee require.”

This, of course, is false. Then-Senator Hillary Clinton and her husband Bill Clinton turned over a full list of foreign donors when she was being considered for Secretary of State.
