GOP Rep Calls for Joint Committee, Subpoenas on Benghazi

Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA) is calling for Congress to use its subpoena power to further investigate the allegations that State Department and White House officials went through multiple revisions of CIA talking points related to the terror attacks in Benghazi on September 12, 2012.

Rep. Wolf was on “Mornings on the Mall” on WMAL-FM Friday morning with me and co-host Brian Wilson just moments after ABC News broke their story about the twelve revisions to the talking points, including reference to the Al Qaeda-affiliated group Ansar al-Sharia being responsible for the attacks.

According to the report, State Department spokesman Victoria Nuland took issue with including that information because it “could be abused by members [of Congress] to beat up the State Department for not paying attention to warnings, so why would we want to feed that either? Concerned …”

I asked Rep. Wolf specifically about this report and what action Congress should take in light of it.  His immediate response: “It’s time for congress to use its subpoena power.”
