**Live Battlecast** Pickett’s Charge to Be ‘Epic’ Event

The 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg is finishing off with a bang as there will be a live 90-minute broadcast of Pickett’s Charge at www.gettysburgbattlecast.com Sunday, July 7. Subscribers to the battlecast will be able to watch as thousands of reenactors take the field for the Blue and the Gray and participate in a historically accurate mock battle.

The event is sold out, but the battlecast will cover the action from all angles as there will be embedded cameras from all over the field, including the Union and Confederate lines. It will begin airing live at 2:30 p.m. EST and there will be around 100,000 on-site spectators for the live event. The Pickett’s Charge mock battle will be conducted by Emmy nominated Director Robert Child and his company, Rob Child & Associates, who put many years of planning into the production.

Child said in an interview with Stephen K. Bannon on Breitbart News’ broadcast, “This is why I think it’s going to be so exciting to people, because it’s going to be essentially the accurate numbers of Pickett’s Charge,” Child continued, “You are going to see what it actually looked like 150 years ago with the same number of cannons essentially.”

He called the entire production, “Epic.”

Child said in the interview that for many of the reenactors this was going to be their final performance and they are taking the event even more seriously. There will be over 140 cannons firing for about an hour and the battlefield maneuvers will be carried out just as they were in the original Pickett’s Charge. The artillery barrage will last for 90 minutes and the event will take place for about three hours.

Pickett’s Charge is considered the “high water mark” of the Confederacy, and represented the last, best hope for Southern victory. However, the Union lines held strong and the brave men of the Army of Northern Virginia and broke upon the exhausted but resolute lines of the Army of the Potomac.
