New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner is expected to participate in a mayoral candidate forum on women’s issues, hosted by Voces Latinas in Jackson Heights, New York tonight.
Weiner is expected to make remarks about women’s issues along with other New York City mayoral candidates.
Weiner, who allegedly used the alias “Carlos Danger” in an online relationship revealed this week, confirmed earlier Thursday that he exchanged more sexually-explicit online texts and pictures with at least three women since leaving Congress.
Weiner hinted to reporters on Wednesday that there was more explicit material online that has yet to be released to the public, saying, “I thought they were going to come out towards the end of the campaign and some of them have, so I’m pressing forward and I’m running a campaign based on issues. I’m gonna keep doing that and getting a good response.”
Democrats are beginning to distance themselves from Weiner, whose poll numbers are dropping, and one New York Democrat has already called for him to leave the race.
