Miley Cyrus is leaving the competition tongue tied.
The 20-year-old singer, who discarded her teen pop past by appearing mostly naked on television and in print in recent weeks, now has the number one album in the country with the debut of Bangerz.
Cyrus started her PR machine rolling with her highly sexual performance at last month’s Video Music Awards telecast, and kept the momentum going by licking a sledge hammer in her suggestive new music video Wrecking Ball.
The singer has made her intentions crystal clear. She wants to sell records by any means necessary. Now, we’ll have to wait and see if Bangerz has staying power on the charts.
