Politifact Lies About Rise in State Unemployment

Politifact Lies About Rise in State Unemployment

The era of fact-checkers being trusted as honest brokers might be over, but that doesn’t mean they won’t do what the equally irrelevant mainstream media does: double down in their spewing of narrative-lies and propaganda to aid and abet the left.

Case in point, Politifact.

Politiact is the worst of the mainstream media’s dishonest fact-checkers (no small feat). They’re the ones who ruled as true the absolute lie that Obama increased federal spending at a lower rate than any other modern president.

Because there is no bottom to how low Politifact will go, Politifact is now brazenly lying by awarding a feeble “mostly true” to absolute black and white facts.

Via Charlie Sykes:

Check out this Politifact: it rates Gov. Scott Walker’s statement that “Last month, 44 of the 50 states saw an increase in the unemployment rate”… as HALF TRUE. The logic? yes, Walker’s statement is absolutely true, but some of the increases were statistically insignificant.

Declaring as only “mostly true” what is a black and white fact is lying — plain and simple. Politifact is now reduced to lying to protect Obama.

In other news (via Instapundit), The Atlantic’s senior editor, Clive Crook, says of Washington Post “fact-checker” Glenn Kessler: “Fire his ass.”

Of course I could criticize Kessler without calling him the filthy liar that he is. You know, exercise a little “restraint”. On the one hand, on the other hand, all that crap. But leading scholars have taught us that in politics things aren’t complicated, and when somebody builds a career on a lie, we need to say so. I try to be fair, God knows I try. Like Ezra Klein (what would we do without that impartial authority?) I strive to do justice to both sides. But here’s the thing. At some point, you can be fair, or you can seem to be fair, but not both.

Kessler’s foundational lie–the stinking lie on which his whole corrupt operation is based–is that he’s “fact-checking”. Untrue!

Yep, Glenn Kessler is a liar. Kessler lied when he called Romney a liar for claiming a president who didn’t go to Israel didn’t go to Israel. Period.

Finally, Jammie Wearing Fools caught Shushannah Walshe and Steven Portnoy of ABC News embarrassing themselves with this “fact check“:

Let’s start at the beginning. In comparing President Obama to Jimmy Carter, Ryan said in July 1980 the unemployment rate was 7.8 percent and “for the past 42 months it’s been above 8 percent under Barack Obama’s failed leadership.”

Both parts of this sentence are true according to the Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, but in July 1983, when Ronald Reagan was president, unemployment was at 9.4 percent. In July 1982 it was higher at 9.8 percent.

Like we saw with the MSM after New Media started to expose their blatant biases, now that these fact-checkers are being openly laughed at, they will only double down in their absurdities.

When caught red-handed doing something wrong, decent people stop doing it.

The media, however, is not decent.
