A recently recorded speech distributed by the Islamic State called on Muslims living in Western countries to commit lone wolf attacks and wage jihad against innocent civilians.
“Do not ask for anyone’s advice and do not seek anyone’s verdict. Kill the infidel (disbeliever), whether he is civilian or military, for they have the same ruling. Both of them are disbelievers,” said Islamic State official spokesman Abu Muhammad Adnani.
Adnani continued: “You must strike the soldiers, patrons of the tyrants, their troops, police, security, and investigators, as well as their collaborators. Disrupt their sleep. Embitter their lives and turn them on themselves.”
The jihadi leader then turned his attention to the West: “If you can kill a an American or European, especially the spiteful and filthy French, or an Australian, or a Canadian, or any other disbeliever from the disbelievers waging war, including the citizens of the countries that entered into a coalition against the Islamic State, then rely upon Allah, and kill him in any manner or way however it may be.”
The Islamic State spokesperson declared in June that his terror group was establishing an Islamic caliphate in Iraq and Syria.
Adnani, who delivered his rant in a 42-minute long speech, has been listed by the US State Department as a Specially Designated Global terrorists. The designation described Adnani’s background: “Abu Mohammed al-Adnani, born Taha Sobhi Falaha in Syria, is the official spokesman for and a senior leader of ISIL. Al-Adnani is ISIL’s main conduit for the dissemination of official messages, including ISIL’s declaration of the creation of an Islamic Caliphate. Al-Adnani was one of the first foreign fighters to oppose Coalition forces in Iraq before becoming ISIL’s spokesman.”
