12-Year-Old Ohio State Fan Defeats Brain Tumor He Named 'Michigan'

A 12-year-old Ohio State fan named his cancer “Michigan” and was informed last Friday that he had defeated it.

As NBC4 reported, Grant Reed was diagnosed with a brain tumor two years ago, and Ohio State coach Urban Meyer even stopped by and spent time with him last year.

Doctors said the prognosis for Grant, who turns 13 next month, looks good.

“We’ve beaten Michigan for the short term, but like any rival, there’s a chance it can come back,” his father said.

Grant’s speech and mobility have been impacted by the treatment, and he said, “I want to recover. I want to talk faster, I guess. Walk faster.
