Christie: 'Blinding' Snowstorm During 2014 Super Bowl Would Be 'Amazing'
Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said it would be "amazing" if there were a "blinding" snowstorm during Super Bowl XLVIII, which will be held in January of 2014 at MetLife Stadium in the New York/New Jersey region.
"They play in snow all the time. What’s the problem?," he said while co-hosting the "Boomer and Carton" show. "Listen, I’ve already got the plows fired up. They’re good to go, they’re ready to go."
Residents and elected officials have been worried that such a storm would strain their budgets and threaten public safety, but Christie remained undaunted.
"Nobody is going to be slipping on ice and not being able to get to the stadium," he said. "We’re from New Jersey! It snows all the time. What’s the problem? I’d like a blinding snowstorm during the game. It would be amazing.”
