Connecticut Courthouse Evacuated After Bomb Threat

At approximately 10:30am Monday morning, the State Superior Court in Stamford, Connecticut was evacuated because of a bomb threat, the Stamford Times reports.

An anonymous man called the court, according to the Times, and claimed that a bomb would go off at 4pm. The police were able to determine that the threat was a hoax and people were allowed to return to the building just over an hour later.

There have been a rash of bomb scares across America in recent hours, including threats to three Alabama hospitals, a Pennsylvania shopping town, a Daytona Beach office building, and to a residential neighborhood in Rock Island, Illinois.

A week ago Monday, an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three and injuring 183 people.
