Terry Bean – Have the Washington Post Or NYTs Heard of Him?

Terry Bean – Have the Washington Post Or NYTs Heard of Him?

In response to Media loses her collective mind over Lauten:

Terry Bean is a gay-rights activist who co-founded the influential Human Rights Campaign and is a member of the board of the HRC Foundation which you can thank for the Common Core-aligned “anti-bullying” propaganda in schools nationwide. He’s a major campaign donor to  both the president and the Democrat party, having shelled out more than $500,000 to support them in 2012.

He’s ridden on Air Force One with Obama and was given a presidential shout-out at a fundraiser in Portland. Etc.  Long story short – Bean is a major player in left-wing Democrat politics who has rubbed elbows with everyone from the president and first lady to Bill Clinton.

He was also recently charged with sexual assault of a minor.

Via Michelle Malkin:

A relentless schmoozer, the campaign finance bundler introduced the commander in chief to his 25-year-old ex-boyfriend, Kiah Lawson. The pair posed for a cozy snapshot beneath an august portrait of George Washington in the White House library in 2013.

Late last month, however, the former lovebirds posed for a seedier set of pics: their creepy mug shots at the Multnomah County, Ore., Detention Center. After a sweeping investigation led by the Portland police department’s sex crime units and two county district attorney’s offices, authorities charged Bean with two felony counts of third-degree sodomy and one misdemeanor count of third-degree sex abuse. Lawson was indicted on third-degree sodomy and third-degree sexual abuse.
Allegations of Bean’s lurid sexual trysts with young men, which Lawson says the Democratic donor secretly videotaped, first surfaced in the local Willamette Week newspaper in June. Police say the pair enticed a 15-year-old boy to a hotel in Eugene, Ore., after meeting him through the iPhone app Grinder, which helps men locate “local gay, bi and curious guys for dating.”

So far, the Washington Post, which has run eleven stories on the Elizabeth Lauten nothingburger (a House staffer no one’s heard of said critical things about the First Daughters on Facebook, promptly apologized and quit) has run only one short AP blurb on the Terry Bean child rape story. Huh.

According to Malkin, the New York Times hasn’t done anything at all on the Democrat-Gay-rights-hero accused-of-sexual-abuse-of-a-minor story.

There are other stories bored reporters with nothing to do could be looking into.

Anyone in the MSM interested in hearing what an eyewitness of the horrendous St. Louis hammer attack had to say about that?  Local officials are saying he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, but Zemir Begic’s  family thinks he was the victim of a hate crime. Could there possibly be a story there?

I hear ISIS claims to have a dirty bomb, and the State Department still hasn’t cancelled passports of ISIS fighters returning to the US.  Oh well.

Did you know that Treasury Secretary Jack Lew is “looking into ‘potential liability’ that his tax aides broke laws in sharing taxpayer information with the White House.”

Less than a week after ‘fessing up that it found some 2,500 documents potentially showing that the IRS shared taxpayer returns with the White House, the Obama administration has reversed course and won’t release the trove to a group suing for access.

I don’t know – there could be huge scandal brewing here. Who knows what a major news outlet could uncover if they poured their resources into that story.  But then, they’d have to take their reporters off the Elizabeth Lauten beat. And there still may be some stones left unturned from her past that require further examination. Have they discovered where she went to pre-school yet?

Yeah, I’m not buying the “slow news cycle” excuse I’m hearing from media apologists to explain their embarrassing overindulgence on the Elizabeth Lauten “story.”

We’re in a slow news cycle for news favorable to their beloved Emperor Obama maybe, but the praetorian guard media had better get used to that.
