Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg’s pro-amnesty lobbying group praised Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC) on Wednesday for voting against Rep. Marsha Blackburn’s (R-TN) amendment to block President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action Program for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program for certain DREAMers.
FWD.us, Zuckerberg’s lobbying group that spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to get Ellmers through her primary last year, praised Ellmers along with the 25 other Republicans who voted with her against Blackburn’s amendment.

The House passed a Homeland Security spending bill on Wednesday with two amendments that would defund Obama’s 2012 DACA program and 2014 executive amnesty.
As Breitbart News reported last year, “FWD.us played a huge role in confusing voters in Ellmers’ district about her position on amnesty legislation”:
Even though Ellmers has openly declared her support for amnesty, had meltdowns debating the issue while referring to herself in the third person, and even berated her constituents for opposing amnesty, FWD.us purchased $200,000 worth of deceptive ads on television that lied about Ellmers’ stance on immigration, saying it was, “No amnesty, period.”
After Ellmers defeated her underfunded primary challenger and won reelection last year, FWD.us, along with pro-amnesty advocates, gloated because they knew they had another pro-amnesty ally in Congress. Zuckerberg’s lobbying group has spent millions on both sides of the aisle attempting to get comprehensive amnesty legislation.
