On June 9 a couple in Rogersville, Tennessee, allegedly beat and stabbed a neighbor who called cops over their loud sex noises.

According to the Kingsport Times-News, the neighbor called police twice “about a loud disturbance in the apartment next door.” At least one of the disturbances was allegedly the couple having sex.

The noise level was so great that Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) says the call was for a “loud domestic disturbance involving [33-year-old] Johnny Allen Richards and [32-year-old] Erin Brooke Lawson.”

When the police left after the second call, Richards and Lawson allegedly went to their neighbor’s door, confronted him, and then beat and stabbed him.

The Times-News reports that Richards has been arrested “45 times” since 2001. The various charges “[include] burglary, theft, domestic assault, drug possession, casual exchange of drugs, public intoxication, contempt of court and a variety of driving offenses.” Lawson has been arrested “31 times” herself since 2001. Her various “charges [include] burglary, theft, domestic assault, drug possession, casual exchange of drugs, public intoxication, contempt of court and a variety of driving offenses.”

The HCSO was called back for a third time following the alleged assault. When they arrived, the neighbor claimed the couple had “allegedly hit him with a rake hard enough to break the handle.” He was then allegedly stabbed with the broken handle.

“Richards was charged with aggravated assault,” and police determined the first “loud disturbance was apparently just loud sex, the second ‘loud disturbance’ was related to an actual domestic [disturbance].”
