Outsider Republicans Lead Florida Poll, Establishment Trailing

A new survey in the Sunshine State has more bad news for establishment Republican politicians.

GOP frontrunner Donald Trump remains in the lead in Florida, with retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson only four points behind the real estate mogul.

Carson recently tied Trump in a poll of Iowa voters.

The two non politicians continue to gain supporters ahead of the second GOP primary debate later this month.

The two Floridians running for the GOP nomination, former Florida Gov. Jen Bush and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), trail Carson and Trump.

Bush is in third place and Rubio is in fourth in the Sunshine State poll done for Morris News Service.

Carly Fiorina, coming off a strong performance among the second tier GOP debaters in Cleveland, came in fifth behind Rubio in the Florida survey.

The poll, surveying nearly 500 adults, was published in The Savannah Morning News and conducted by Atlanta-based OpinionSavvy research firm. The survey has a plus or minus 4 percent margin of error.

The results were:

Trump – 29 percent

Carson – 25 percent

Bush – 19 percent

Rubio – 6 percent

Fiorina – 5 percent

Kasich and Cruz – 3 percent

Huckabee and Christie – 2 percent

Walker and Jindal – 1 percent

Lindsey Graham, George Pataki, Rick Perry, Rand Paul and Rick Santorum had zero percent support with Republicans.
