Jerry Casale, singer of the band Devo, not only chose Friday, Sept. 11 as the date of his wedding, but also celebrated his nuptials with a Twin Towers cake, and passed out box cutter knives to guests as party favors.

TMZ has released shocking images of the Friday reception, which show Casale and his bride posing with a pair of wedding cakes that resemble the Twin Towers.

Additionally, table setting cards featured an image of a box cutter engraved with “Gerald & Krista.”

TMZ reports wedding guests were not fazed by the disrespectful service because “they both have a dark and strange sense of humor.”

Moreover, one guest said Jerry has “real heart as an artist, and is a super sweet guy.”

On September 11, 2001, 19 Muslim men hijacked four commercial airliners as part of a coordinated attack, killing 2,799 innocent people.

The pictures surfaced only a few days after Entourage star Adrian Grenier sparked Internet outrage for his post on 9/11, in which he paid tribute to the “1,455,590 innocent Iraqis who died during the U.S. invasion for something they didn’t do.”
