Breitbart News Daily: Rep. Dana Rohrabacher Introduces Bill To Stop Christian Genocide

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) discusses his bill, Stop the Christian Genocide Act, with Breitbart News executive chairman and host of Breitbart News Daily Stephen K. Bannon.

“What we have today – at least in the Middle East – it’s identifiable in a number of countries, even Pakistan, for example – we have this ancient Christian community there in the Holy Land that has been there since the time of Christ,” Rohrabacher said, “and the radical Islamic movement is aimed at destroying those people, is aimed at obliterating them, annihilating them, eliminating them from that whole part of the planet, and frankly they’ll do that to the rest of us if they have the chance.”

Rohrabacher said that with his legislation, “We’ll hope…to motivate people to be able to stand up and do what’s necessary to protect our freedom and prevent us from being slaughtered like we saw the people in Paris being slaughtered just a few days ago.”

“But it also exposes the fact that we have a President of the United States who is unable to protect Christians,” he added, noting that President Obama recently invited to the White House a Muslim boy in Texas named Ahmed Mohamed after his insistence that the device he built was a clock and not a bomb.

In a press release Monday, Rohrabacher – who chairs the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging Threats – said, “President Obama has demonstrated a callous disregard for the genocide of Christians that is taking place at this moment.”

“Yes, there are wars and terrorist attacks conducted by various people in various parts of the world toward various targets,” he continued. “But not to prioritize the group that is targeted for mass extermination, as in the case is Christians in many Middle Eastern countries, is a shameful example of the president’s lack of leadership and compassion.”

The congressman continued that his legislation is intended to recognize that Christians are being targeted while President Obama is out of touch with radical Islam.

“The events in Paris should be proof enough that we need to examine closely those we permit to flood into our country,” Rohrabacher said. “The president has already violated the trust of the American people as well as his constitutional responsibility to secure our country from hostile threats.”

“The president complains that Christians should not be singled out for rescue,” he added. “But our bill, The Save the Christians from Genocide Act, also prioritizes Yazidis, a non-Christian ethnic group targeted for extinction – so the president has no legitimate complaint at all.“
