President Donald Trump continued his criticism of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, pointing out another player who refused to stand during the national anthem.

“Can you believe that the disrespect for our Country, our Flag, our Anthem continues without penalty to the players,” Trump said. “The Commissioner has lost control of the hemorrhaging league. Players are the boss!”

Trump highlighted a Breitbart News story about New York Giants defensive lineman Olivier Vernon taking a knee during a Thanksgiving game – while a Master Sergeant of the United States Army sang the anthem.

Goodall has refused to force players to stand during the national anthem, a controversy that Trump continues to criticize on Twitter.

Dallas Cowboy’s owner Jerry Jones has tangled with Goodell, although he backtracked on a decision to sue the league over his massive contract.

On Wednesday, Jones said that Trump used to be a fan of football and welcomed his attempts to drive the conversation on the issue.

“I appreciate not only the President, but I want everybody to be a fan of the Dallas Cowboys,” he said. “And I want to do everything I can to make them a fan of the Cowboys or the NFL. I just appreciate the interest.”
