A masked man threw a Molotov cocktail inside a Brooklyn supermarket early Wednesday morning, causing mass panic among customers at the scene, witnesses say.

The incident took place around 2:30 a.m. after a man hurled two bottles of Molotov cocktails into Tashkent Supermarket before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle with an accomplice, WPIX reports.

“Everyone was scared. People were screaming. There was fire and smoke everywhere,” a worker at Tashkent Supermarket told the New York Post.

The supermarket employee said that ten shoppers and three supermarket workers were inside the store when the masked man tossed the flammable liquid inside.

No injuries were reported, and store employees put out the fire without any trouble, police said.

The NYPD’s video of the incident shows the man setting ablaze only one of the two flammable objects.

“If we wouldn’t [have caught] it in time, there could have been a huge fire,” the worker said, adding that he hopes the suspects are brought to justice.

The suspects are still at large, and police are still searching for a motive for the attack.

The man who allegedly threw the Molotov cocktail was last seen dressed head-to-toe in black, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and black face mask.

The accomplice was last seen outfitted with a black and white motorcycle helmet, red shirt, black hoodie, black jeans, and black shoes.
