White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders issued a statement on Tuesday following the meeting President Donald Trump held with Republican and Democrat members of the House and Senate stating that the two parties and the president have negotiated an agreement to negotiate on immigration reform, including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA.
The statement said:
President Donald J. Trump just concluded a successful bipartisan and bicameral meeting on immigration reform. During the closed-door portion of the meeting, they reached an agreement to negotiate legislation that accomplishes critically needed reforms in four high-priority area: border security, chain migration, the visa lottery, and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy.

At the televised portion of the meeting, Trump called DACA amnesty a “bill of love.”
“This should be a bill of love, truly,” Trump said. “It should be a bill of love, and we can do that.”
“I really do believe Democrat and Republican, the people sitting in this room, really want to get something done,” Trump said.
