Embattled director Bryan Singer says he has proof that will exonerate him against charges he drugged and sexually assaulted a 17-year-old boy in 1999.
Singer still is watching his calender being upturned days after the lawsuit describing Singer’s alleged acts came to light.
He dropped out of a fan-friendly event this weekend to promote his new film, X-Men: Days of Future Past. Now, he’s withdrawn from a “Creativity Conference” with Vice President Joe Biden next month.
The filmmaker, who is being sued by a 31-year-old man who alleges Singer sexually abused him in the late 1990s, was scheduled to appear along with Vice President Joe Biden at the conference, which is being co-sponsored by the Motion Picture Association of America, Microsoft and ABC News as part of the festivities surrounding the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Singer, who also directed last year’s box office disappointment Jack the Giant Slayer, has been a steady donor to Democratic causes in recent years.
