British pop superstar Adele had a harsh message for a record producer critic who recently said the singer’s voice could have been “manipulated” to sound better on her hit album 25.

During a recent concert, the 28-year-old singer paused to address comments made in a recent interview by famed record producer Tony Visconti, who worked with the late David Bowie on his final album, Blackstar.

“You turn the radio on and it’s fluff, you are listening to 90% computerized voices,” Visconti, 72, told the UK’s Daily Star in an interview earlier this month. “We know Adele has a great voice but it’s even questionable if that is actually her voice or how much has been manipulated. We don’t know.”

“There’s a sound to pop now that is so perfect it’s boring, because everything is fixed,” the veteran producer added.

Word of Visconti’s criticism must have reached Adele, because she called out the record producer mid-concert.

“Some d*ckhead… tried to say that my voice was not me on record,” the singer told a screaming audience. Dude, s*ck my d*ck.”

Adele’s performances have become known for the singer’s mid-concert banter almost as much as the actual music itself.

At a concert in Italy in May, the singer paused to scold a fan for filming the performance, while earlier that month, she paused a performance to tell a rapturous audience that fellow pop star Beyoncé is “Jesus f*cking Christ.”

The singer has also been known to engage in debates about breastfeeding during concerts, and has also helped couples get engaged.

Adele’s latest album, 25, sold 2.3 million copies in the United States in its first three days of release. The 28-year-old reportedly signed a new contract with Sony worth $130 million, the largest music contract in history for a female artist.
