Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez to Headline Clinton Campaign ‘Love Trumps Hate’ Concerts

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign is set to launch a star-studded “Love Trumps Hate” concert series, which will feature performances from pop singers Katy Perry and Jennifer Lopez.

“The performance series will feature a number of artists performing in battleground states who will energize our supporters and encourage them to turn out to vote on Election Day or to take advantage of early voting options in their states,” a Clinton campaign press release states.

The concert series, which will also feature performances from rock band Bon Jovi, is aimed at encouraging voters to head to the polls in November and to vote for the Democratic nominee.

“In the final weeks of this campaign, what voters will hear from these performers and all HFA surrogates is that Hillary Clinton has the experience and steadiness to bring people together and get real results — Donald Trump is temperamentally unfit and unqualified to be president,” the press release continues. “The choice in this election is clear. We can either come together to tackle the big challenges facing the country or let Donald Trump keep tearing us apart with his divisive rhetoric and dangerous ideas.”

The phrase “Love Trumps Hate” has been used by the Democratic nominee in the past.

During her primetime address at the Democratic National Convention in July, Clinton was taking about her vision for America when she said: “And yes, love trumps hate. That’s the country we’re fighting for. That’s the future we’re working toward.”

Both Perry and Lopez have helped raise campaign cash for Clinton.

In March, Elton John and Perry headlined a fundraising concert for Clinton at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

Meanwhile, Lopez was among a handful of Hollywood A-listers to co-host a star-studded fundraiser at filmmaker Harvey Weinstein’s New York City apartment in June. The small gathering reportedly netted nearly $2 million for Clinton’s campaign in just two hours, Deadline reported.
