It's tough to hear anything else over the sound of the Administration imploding

I thought the Kermit Gosnell verdict would dominate the news when it came down.  Sure, the mainstream media doesn’t want to talk about Gosnell – you can hear the sound of flop-sweat splattering on the walls at NARAL and Planned Parenthood headquarters across the land – but it would be just too huge to ignore, especially after the press was hammered for its light coverage of the trial.

But in the event, it was hard to hear anything else over the sound of the Obama Administration imploding.  It seemed like a new horror story broke every hour today.  Abuse of the IRS to audit Obama’s political opponents?  By sunset, we were learning that confidential tax information from conservative groups was handed out like party favors to liberal media organizations.  By the time East Coast folks were cleaning up their dinner plates, we learned the IRS had a “special unit” to determine whether the activities of pro-Israel Jewish organizations “contradicted the Administration’s public policies.”

The ridiculous IRS fairy tale about “low-level rogue employees in Cincinnati” was dead by the time the Liar-In-Chief tried to convince his media pals that he learned about the scandal by watching their Friday evening newscasts.  But now we’ve got documented proof that offices in Washington, D.C. and California were involved, too.

A “special unit” just for the Jews.  It’s like some bizarre fever-dream parody of official corruption on a gigantic scale.

And then we learned Eric Holder’s hyper-politicized Justice Department was secretly pulling the phone records of Associated Press reporters.  “There can be no possible justification for such an overbroad collection of the telephone communications of The Associated Press and its reporters,” thundered Associated Press CEO Gary Pruitt.  “These records potentially reveal communications with confidential sources across all of the newsgathering activities undertaken by the AP during a two-month period, provide a road map to AP’s newsgathering operations and disclose information about AP’s activities and operations that the government has no conceivable right to know.”

Team Obama will soon be thinking fondly of the days when they were only getting smacked around for their outrageous Benghazi bungles and cover-up.  The AP scandal is going to annoy the living hell out of the people whose kind indulgence Obama defends heavily upon.  If he’s about to get treated like a Republican, his Administration won’t survive.
