PITTSBURGH, Dec. 3 (UPI) — When you are as good as Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, you can be called whatever you want.
The choice for Brown: Ronald.
On Friday, the All-Pro spoke to reporters, giving a bizarre sequence of answers and requesting to be referred to as “Ronald” from now on.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler transcribed the sequence:
Brown, 28, has 82 receptions for 998 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. Former Pro Bowl wide receiver Chad Johnson, who once changed his name to Chad Ochocinco, gave props to Brown by wishing him luck on Twitter.
“Good luck tomorrow Ronald,” Johnson tweeted.
The Steelers, tied with the Baltimore Ravens atop the AFC North, face the New York Giants at 4:25 p.m. Sunday at Heinz Field. Brown put up a huge performance in his last game, catching five passes for 91 yards and three scores in a Thanksgiving Day win against the Indianapolis Colts.
After that performance Brown was fined $24,309 by the NFL for a touchdown celebration. He has also been fined other times this season for his shoes and previous scoring celebrations.
