US President Barack Obama is to make a statement on the conflict in Syria, the White House said Saturday, as the world awaited his decision on launching military strikes.
The president was to make a statement to reporters in the White House Rose Garden at 1:15pm (1715 GMT), at the opening of a window of possible times for US forces to act.
