London equities climbed at the start of trading on Wednesday after US President Barack Obama won re-election and as investors looked ahead to a key Greek vote on austerity.
The FTSE 100 index of top companies gained 0.25 percent to 5,899.47 points in early deals.
Elsewhere, Tokyo nudged down 2.26 points overnight to 8,972.89, while in Europe Frankfurt’s DAX 30 added 0.64 percent to 7,425.08 points Wednesday morning and in Paris the CAC 40 grew by 0.95 percent to 3,511.86.
