US Vice President Joe Biden traveled to Texas to accompany his son to hospital after he experienced a spell of “disorientation” and “weakness, the White House said.
No further details were available on the condition of Beau Biden, 44, the attorney general of the state of Delaware, who suffered a mild stroke three years ago.
The White House said on Monday that he was being examined at the hospital in Houston to find the cause of the episode, suffered when he was on vacation last week with his family.
It was not immediately clear if his son’s health scare would thwart the vice president’s plans to appear at a rally in his boyhood hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania later this week.

In 1988, Joe Biden, then a US senator, twice had surgery to correct an aneurysm in an artery that supplied blood to the right side of the brain.
The Biden family has also been touched by tragedy.
Weeks after Joe Biden was elected to the Senate in 1972, his first wife, Neilia and infant daughter Naomi were killed in a car crash, leaving Biden to bring up Beau and another son, Hunter, alone.
