White House sends Congress resolution seeking backing for Syria strikes

The White House formally asked Congress for authorization to conduct military strikes in Syria, to allow President Barack Obama to “disrupt” and “prevent” chemical weapons attacks.

The draft resolution says support from Congress would “send a clear signal of American resolve.”
