Chaska (United States) (AFP) – British Open champion Henrik Stenson smacked his opening tee shot into a cluster of portable toilets Sunday at the Ryder Cup on the way to losing the first hole.

Sweden’s Stenson, also the silver medalist at the Rio Olympics, was well left of the fairway with his first shot in his closing singles match against US star Jordan Spieth.

As he walked up to the collection of portable toilets in which his ball landed, he summed it the situation by saying, “Well, it’s a shit shot.”

Taking a two club-length drop from the decidedly unmovable obstacle, Stenson found an area well trampled by spectators and smacked his second shot around distant trees and onto the green.

Spieth birdied to win the hole after Stenson missed his long birdie attempt, although the Swede birided the third to square the match.

Stenson’s outburst came on a day when the PGA of America warned spectators, whose insults to Europe players have been profane and profuse, of a zero tolerance policy.

“Our security staff will continue to enforce a zero tolerance policy, removing from the course any fans who are disruptive in any way, including the use of vulgar or profane language directed at the players,” it said in a statement.
