Creative signage is the new craze in college football.

With marquee matchups and national audiences numbering in the millions, the right sign that captures the appropriate balance of humor and snark, and offers the chance to be tweeted and retweeted thousands of times over has become an all-consuming trend for many fans of the college gridiron.

The buildup to Saturday’s Michigan and Ohio State game continued the trend of such Twitter-bait signage. Though the thoughts and messages conveyed in one particular sign did not strike any kind of real balance, as seen in an image posted by @BarstoolOSU:

After the tweet made the rounds on social media, the Detroit Free Press spoke with several people, Ohio State graduates included, who called the sign “disgusting.”

Of course, the Flint water crisis wasn’t a joke to those affected. The water contamination resulted in large numbers of residents exposed to high levels of lead and other contaminants.
