The Browning Cynergy Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Blades over and under shotgun is a 12-gauge that shoots more like a 20-gauge, thanks to the built-in Inflex Technology that lessens the felt recoil.
The Cynergy is a totally different kind of shotgun. When you pick it up, you feel the balance; when you swing it into position, front sight acquisition comes easily and the trigger is crisp and quick. The Cynergy I shot had a green fiber optic front sight, which glowed brightly in the sunlight.
And for those who spend time each year hunting pheasant — and I have spent a lot of time hunting them — the Cynergy presents you with a shotgun that provides two quick shots for the bird that takes to air in front of you. Of course, the Cynergy is a great gun for hunting turkey and, because it is chambered in 3 1/2 inch, it can reach out and touch something at quite the distance (with the proper choke).
Shooting the Cynergy for the first time reminded me of the first time I shot a Heckler & Koch VP 40 or a Kimber Micro Carry, inasmuch as I immediately noticed I was shooting something quite unlike anything I had ever shot before. My life with shotguns has been full of pump shotguns and autos, with a Beretta Silver Pigeon, Ruger Red Label, and a cheaper over and under in the mix as well. But none of these guns fit me like the Cynergy Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Blades. None of them allowed me to get on target as quickly as Cynergy or to shoot as well.
The Cynergy Mossy Oak Shadow Grass is either out of production or in limited production. If the latter, a new one can be acquired for about $2,000. If the former, a used one in great condition is about $1,700.
