EL CORONIL, Spain, May 21 (UPI) —
Police in Spain said they arrested a man accused of possessing a stolen marmoset after he posted pictures of the pilfered primate online.
Investigators in El Coronil, Seville province, said the marmoset, dubbed Paintbrush, was stolen months ago from the Guillena Zoo and was located in the possession of a man identified only as V.I.F.D. after he posted pictures of it on various social media sites, The Local.es reported Tuesday.
The marmoset was returned to the zoo and the man was arrested.
Police said V.I.F.D. was charged with possessing the stolen primate, violation of anti-smuggling legislation and making "inappropriate" comments to officers during his arrest.
