Acclaimed rock and jazz-fusion guitarist Tony MacAlpine and his band were the victim of thieves in Austin, Texas, and now the musicians are putting out the word to try and get their gear back.
MacAlpine has been a guitar legend since his 1986 album Edge Of Insanity, made with bassist Billy Sheehan and former Journey drummer Steve Smith. MacAlpine has also played with fellow legend Steve Vai, and has recorded and toured constantly for nearly 30 years.
On their Facebook page, the band posted details of what was stolen. Anyone with information should post there. The band’s message reads as follows:

Serial numbers will be added shortly:
- his black Ibanez Guitars custom 7-string with EMG Pickups installed (serial LA071509);

As you can imagine, this has completely disabled our tour. When you take a musician’s instruments you remove their livelihood.
Please share this post! We hope our network of friends and fans can help us recover our gear.
The tour continues in Texas. MacAlpine will be playing in Houston Friday night, and in McKinney on Saturday.
